Vulture meets obstacle course . . .

Vulture
Meet Pip.

DSC_0020

Pip is a juvenile king vulture. This is what he will look like when he grows up. These are his parents, who rolled the egg out of the nest and left Pip to be hand raised by the zoo staff.

The zoo staff decided to make him an animal ambassador, and taught him to do cool things like running an obstacle course, which is actually normal vulture behavior when they're going after carrion on the ground. (He goes over those bars.)

Anyway. Thought that was cool. I like vultures. This zoo is on the small side, but it's pleasant, and I like the animals they have. Still haven't seen the polar bears, though.

When did you get to the zoo? Weather looks nice. Vulture, too. I like my vultures around here.

Went Tuesday. Still doing training at night, so I have mornings off for one more week. Weather is warm, though not for much longer, methinks. I like it.
