| Bio: | Born and raised in the burbs around Denver, CO, until I got tired of living in my parents's basement and packed up my car and moved to San Diego on July 2nd, 2003. (No more snow!!!) Got a Bachelor's in saxophone performance from the U of Denver in fall 2001. Started going for a Master's in Music at San Diego State U, but mostly I just hang out and play in the ensembles. Baritone sax. The big one. Yes, I do play the others, but I don't like them half as much.
I answer phones at a hotel to pay the bills, but you'll never catch me responding, "Oh, I'm an operator," in response to the famous, "So, what do you do?" question.
Got majorly sidetracked by writing. Finished my first novel around, oh, spring 2002. Got a nice form rejection letter from DAW. Continued working on the thing. Finished a companion novel in 2004. Started a prequel in 2004 and another prequel in 2005. Finished my fourth book in late 2005. Started taking writing workshop classes in '04 at the community college. (I'm poor so I get to go for free, yay!) Took another fiction class at SDSU. Went to the San Diego Writer's Conference in January '05. Went to Clarion workshop in '05, and Westercon, WorldCon and World Fantasy this year. Now enrolled at Seton Hill University to get an MA in Writing Popular Fiction.
Currently working on novel #6, which is the rewrite of a splitting of #4. That's my thesis for SHU, so I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it will be the one. . . |
